The Galatians were told, “You ran well” (Gal. 5:7). The Apostle’s desire was that the Galatian believers should continue in the truth of the gospel (Gal. 2:5). However, there were some who sought to pervert the gospel of Christ (Gal.1:7) by mixing Christianity with Judaism, law as opposed to grace. He asked, “Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? (Gal 3:2). Faith is critical to the believer in Christ, “…faith in Jesus Christ…faith in Christ…faith in the Son of God (Gal. 2:16,20). The epistle to the Galatians emphasizes this faith in Christ Jesus, not the works of the law (Gal.3:26). This letter focuses on the Person of Christ and the sufficiency of His work, both of which should speak to the hearts of those who belong to Him! (Gal. 5:24). May the Lord Himself establish the reader in this truth.
